About This Course
This course provides small business owners and managers with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively manage personal data protection in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). By end of course, learners should be able to:
- LO1 Upon completion of this learning unit, participants will be able to notify individuals of data collection purposes in compliance with PDPA obligations and consent conditions. They will understand the legal framework governing personal data protection, be able to identify what constitutes personal data, and implement proper notification procedures when collecting, using, or disclosing personal information.
Participants will also demonstrate the ability to ensure that data is only collected and used for the specific purposes for which consent was obtained. - LO2 Upon completion of this learning unit, participants will be able to ensure accuracy and rectify errors in collected personal data following best practices and accountability requirements. They will implement operational strategies to maintain data integrity, establish processes for correcting data errors when requested by individuals, and understand their accountability obligations under the PDPA. Participants will be equipped to develop and maintain robust data management practices that ensure compliance with accuracy and correction requirements.
- LO3 Upon completion of this learning unit, participants will be able to cease or anonymise personal data appropriately by applying PDPA lifecycle principles and consent withdrawal protocols. They will understand the complete data lifecycle from collection to disposal, implement proper data retention and anonymization procedures, and manage consent throughout the data lifecycle including withdrawal processes. Participants will be able to develop comprehensive data protection management programs and ensure ongoing compliance with lifecycle requirements.

* What are the prerequisites for WSQ Funding?
1. You need to be a Singaporean Citizen or Permanent Resident, physically based in Singapore.
2. You must successfully complete the programme and pass the assessment in order to be eligible.
3. You must attend at least 75% of the training.
* Can I club any other grant with this subsidy?
No, you cannot claim any other grant if you are claiming this subsidy from SSG. You should not be claiming for any other grants, subsidies, or tax concessions, provided unless explicitly permitted.
* Do I need to pay the full fee, and then claim the subsidy from WSQ Funding?
The programme works on a Nett fee model, i.e. you only need to pay the difference between the fee, and the funding amount at the time of enrollment. The training provider (TP) will claim the funding amount from SSG on completion of the programme. In case you fail to complete the programme, or if the claim raised by TP is rejected by SSG then you are liable to pay the funding amount to TP.
